What is Reiki Reiki is a method of stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing on all levels, physical, mental and emotional.
The technique was first developed in Japan and is administered by the gentle laying on of hands. Its based on fact that all living things are Energy and have a "life force energy" flowing through them.
When your "life force energy" is high you feel strong and confident, more relaxed and less likely to get sick. When it is low you feel tired, easily affected by stress and less resistant to illness.
The practioner channels this energy and by placing their hands over certain areas of the clients body transmits the energy to them.
During the session the client will experience various feelings, mainly relaxation. They may feel heat coming from the practioner`s hands. Most find it very relaxing. The treatment can also release negative feelings and cause a feeling of wellbeing.
To give Reiki the student has attunements this enables the student to give Reiki to themselves animals and plants and of course the public.
Anyone can learn Reiki. It has to be taught by a Reiki Master/teacher. This is because they themselves have been Attuned to be able to carry out the Attunements on the students.
Students are taught the history, principles and the process by the Reiki Master and this is done in degrees.
First Degree Acts on the physical. After completing this the student can carry out Reiki on themselves,friends,family,plants and
animals.
Second Degree Acts on the mental and emotional. After doing this degree the student can give Reiki to the general public
and send distant healing.

Reiki 1st Degree is carried out over two mornings.
It includes four Reiki Attunements
Once attuned the student can give Reiki to themselves,friends,plants and animals.
Reiki 2nd Degree is also carried out over two mornings.It includes two Reiki Attunements. This enables the student to give Reiki to the general public and send distance healing.
